SoftPlot Creator works with Aeroflex instruments to provide remote measurement management, presentation and analysis capabilities. A powerful scripting editor allows automation of instrument measurements and GPS logging. One copy of SoftPlot Creator can support many instruments connected by LAN, GPIB or serial cable.

SoftPlot Creator gives the instrument user powerful post processing and analysis tools:

Presentation Quality Graphics

• Capture and storage of instrument measurements with professional graphs and data files in industry standard formats for inclusion into office or engineering applications.
• Sharp, scalable, vector-based graphics including log and linear Cartesian, modulation, antenna, and Smith charts.

Automatic Measurements with Powerful Scripting Editor and Measurement Math

• Automate repetitive test sequences
• A script can contain commands to control SoftPlot Creator, mixed with SCPI commands for any instrument.
• Create measurements controlling multiple instruments. Example is controlling SGD to generate complex modulated signal and SVA to provide measurement analysis.
• The script can contain branching and looping, function calls, math operations and variables.

Markers, Masks, Notes

• Up to 20 markers can be activated on any trace.
• Markers measure according to selected measurement function
• The delta marker function displays the difference between markers one and two, enabling identification of harmonics, adjacent channels and intermodulation products.
• Markers can be moved to any point on a stored trace for evaluation after the trace has been saved.
• The Measurement Notes, Marker Notes and Trace Notes can be applied to each marker of the trace.

Limit Testing

• Create limit line entry tables of up to 50 segments
• The limit lines can be applied to previously stored traces.
• Predefined templates with limit lines for CISPR, FCC, VCCI and VDE conducted and radiated emissions
• Repeatedly take measurements and store only traces that fail limit tests
• Branch in scripts according to limit line test

GPS Capabilities

• Logs time and location from NMEA GPS receiver with each stored trace
• Capture location and signal strength together to:
  • perform network coverage analysis and identify low signal level locations
  • Identify unwanted emitters with time and location

Local and Remote Connectivity and control

• Co-ordinates and automates measurements from single or multiple instruments in remote locations
